Clinical Pilates

Here at Portmarnock Physiotherapy, we offer Clinical Pilates. Clinical Pilates has been shown to be safe and effective for people of all ages and abilities where each of our classes are tailored to the individual needs and goals of each individual. Our classes are taught by our highly qualified Chartered Physiotherapists whom have also underwent specialised training in Pilates. Within each class, our Chartered Physiotherapists combine their knowledge, expertise and clinical skills with varying Pilates equipment (reformer, mat, weights and foam rollers) in order to provide a suitably challenging and enjoyable exercise program for everyone attending.

At Portmarnock Physiotherapy, our emphasis is on keeping our classes safe, enjoyable and individualised. To allow individual attention to be given to each person, our classes only have a maximum of 3 people per class. Within each class, each individual will have an individualised programme designed for them by our Chartered Physiotherapist which can be modified and adapted throughout each class.

To allow each person to receive an individualised programme, before commencing a Pilates class with us, we will also arrange an initial 1:1 physiotherapy consultation with one of our Chartered Physiotherapists. Here, the Physiotherapist will talk with you about your goals, medical history and any past or present injuries that you may have. Then they will look at your posture, strength and movement patterns to help design an appropriate Pilates program for you alongside providing an opportunity to familiarise yourself with the Pilates equipment.
